Wedding rings stolen from woman's fingers after she died at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow

Two wedding rings were stolen off the fingers of an elderly patient who died at an Essex hospital.

After a fall at home, a woman was rushed to the Tye Green ward in Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex, on Saturday, March 6.

She spent three days in care at the hospital, but she sadly died as a result of her injuries, with her husband at her side.

After the husband went to collect the woman’s belongings, two rings – one an engagement ring and the other a wedding ring – were missing.

The rings never left the woman’s hand during treatment, and police now believe that they were stolen.

Bought in America, the rings were worth a combined £13,500.
