Police launch hunt for killer after human remains found in Harlow pond
An Essex Police probe that was launched after human remains were found in a Harlow pond is now a murder investigation.
Specialist forensic officers confirmed on Monday (Jan 2) that a “suspicious object” spotted in the water near Princess Alexandra Hospital on New Year’s Eve was part of a body.
On Tuesday (Jan 3), Detective Superintendent Rob Kirby, head of major crime, said that Operation Magnesium was now a hunt for a killer: “Through our enquiries at the scene and due to the circumstances in which the remains have been found, we believe this person’s death is suspicious and, as such, have started a murder investigation.
