Police teams across the county will double down on criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in town centres over Christmas.

Teams in Braintree, Witham, Chelmsford, Maldon, Harwich, South Woodham Ferrers, Clacton, Colchester and Saffron Walden were launched in July and August.

The initiative was part of the force’s ongoing commitment to investing in visible, frontline officers.

A Police spokesman said: “Our new Town Centre Teams will be working to keep our towns welcoming places as they prepare for one of the busiest times of year in the run up to Christmas.
